A new year...a new cast!!!

February 2006 - broken leg
December 30, 2007 - broken arm
What will 2008 bring????

A few weeks ago Braxton broke both bones in his left arm. We were at our good friend's cabin and he fell from a ladder going up to a little loft. Zak took him down the mountain and up to Primary Children's Hospital. They had to put him under anesthesia and set his bones. Zak said he was such a little trooper, and so brave during the 5 hour ordeal. He can't get his hard cast until next week because his arm and hand are so swollen. Poor little guy. As you can see, he went through a similar experience last year...so, really it hasn't fazed him much, and it hasn't slowed him down at all.....except for doing all of his Transformers that he got for Christmas...that's where I come in. I must admit, I'm getting pretty good at transforming those confusing little things! T. J. - a little help please!

Two weeks later - getting the hard cast put on!

Good job Brax! A new BLUE cast for BYU (that's what he told the U of U docs!)

Our 3 weeks in Europe

New years resolution is to be a better blogger so Im starting out right and we wanted to share with you our trip to europe. We braved the impossible and took our 3 darling boys on a family trip to Europe for 3 weeks in the fall. It was an amazing experience one of those that I enjoy even more as I put together the photos for this blog. It was very tiring as we traveled to 16 different cities and 4 different countries but we will cherish the memories forever. Here are a few pictures that capture some of those wonderful moments.

Trip to Mexico!!!

Hello Family! Here is a slideshow I made to show you what a wonderful time I had in Mexico with the group Kaiizen. I had so much fun and it was such a neat experience. The kids were so cute and amazing. My favorite part of the trip was on saturday when we went and handed out food to a ton of very poor families. The pictures of all the houses were where we went to deliver food and they were so grateful. Thank you all for the support and encouragement you gave me. Love ya.

Our Mediterranean Cruis

We had such an amazing trip to the Greek Isles. We first went to Venice...and we love, love, LOVED it! It was our favorite stop on the trip! We went to Croatia, then Ephesus,Turkey and saw the ancient ruins where the apostle Paul was believed to be imprisioned and wrote to the Ephesians...fascinating! Then onto Santorini, Greece where the breathtaking view of the city is built on the top of a Volcano (believed to have sunk the Lost City of Atlantis). We had to ride Donkeys up a steep path to get to the city, then rode 4-wheelers all across the island. Corfu, Greece was our last stop..very lush and beautiful! It was so much fun to be with Zak and his family and get away for a little while. Thanks Dad and Mom for watching our kids - you're the best!

A game of marbles

About a month ago I got insanely sick, and had to call Dad and Mom for some reinforcement. Dad taught Dallin how to play the game of marbles. Dallin loved it! He was so intrigued by this game and he listened so intensely as Dad told him some of his childhood memories: his daily chart of marble gains and losses, choosing the perfect "taw" marble (the best shooting marble), and digging up a huge jar of marbles with great grandpa. Dallin's told all his friends about "marbles" and I often hear him re-explaining the rules to Braxton. As I lay SO SICK on the couch watching and listening to Dad and Dallin, I forced myself to get up grab the camera and capture this moment. This is a priceless memory between a grandpa & a grandson....thanks Dad!

It most definitely runs in the family...

Being true blue cougar fans, that is!

Dallin, Braxton & Dawson spent the night and Danny's and my house last weekend and we had so much fun! They played soccer and football in our "back yard"

And I just couldn't resist putting this picture in...so stinkin' cute!!!

Opposites Attract

Danny and I went to Vegas 2 weekends in a row and had such a wonderful time! Danny surprised me with tickets to Celine Dion--amazing--one weekend and the next weekend we met Danny's brother Tony and his friend and attended a fight.

Go Cougars!!!

Dawson...a born die-hard fan!

Alright, so let's be honest. We've been counting down to this 1st BYU football game at our house since, oh, about last January. The boys (all 4) could not have been more excited. There was some serious energy in our car on the way to the game as the 3 boys in the back seat sang the fight song over and over at the top of their lungs. I looked over at Zak to see what I think was a tear in his eye, from this beaming pride, of I'm sure feeling like he has fulfilled his role as their father. This was Dawson's 1st game (which I didn't know how he'd do), but from the pictures I'm sure you can tell...he LOVED it (I don't know what I was thinking, afterall, his first words were "go cougars"...I'm not kidding)! Following all the hype after the first touchdown, he looked at me and said "let's do that again Mommy." The game was a lot of fun, and thank heavens for the win, and that I got to leave with some happy boys!

Danny's New Best Friend

Last week Danny got a new best friend. I wouldn't go as far as saying that I've been replaced, but I think I hold like a co-best friendship now. They go up into the mountains together, go fishing together, and they have plans to go hunting together in the Fall. They hang out together as much as possible and even go to work together. He has even gone so far as to dream about his new best friend and has had a few sleepless nights on his friends account! Sometimes I even catch Danny staring at his new best friend with that kind of "I love you" look in his eye. Strange? You ask, I know, it is, but I'm still pretty confident that I have a one-up on his new best friend, plus, he's happy right...maybe more like ecstatic...any way here is a picture of Danny and his new best friend!

My Alaskan Adventure

I recently had the opportunity of a lifetime, fishing in Alaska with my grandpa. And at risk of being left out of my grandpa's will, I am unable to discuss the exact "secret location," but I assure you it was awesome. We fished for five days on a beautful teal-colored river for king and red salmon. My biggest was in the 40 lb range, and man did it put up a fight. Catching the reds with fly rods was amazing, I could have done it all day. Highlights included taking a freshly caught king to a local restaurant where they prepared it for us four different ways and watching my aunt catapult into the glacier fed river going after a red that had gotten away. Here are some pics.
